Buying SizeLight Pro

About these terms

SizeLight is made by Boumora Labs, the trading name of an individual developer based in Morocco (“Boumora Labs”, “we”, “us”). These terms cover SizeLight Pro when you buy it on sizelight.com, and your use of it in the SizeLight app (iPhone, iPad and Android).

If you buy SizeLight Pro inside the app on iPhone or iPad, you buy it from Apple through the App Store. Apple’s terms and its standard license agreement apply to that purchase instead, and refunds for it go through Apple.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.

Who sells to you

When you buy SizeLight Pro on sizelight.com, the checkout is run by Polar Software, Inc. (“Polar”).Polar is the merchant of record: it resells SizeLight Pro to you, takes the payment, works out and pays any sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipt and invoice. Your card details go to Polar and its payment provider, never to us.

Polar’s terms for buyers apply to the payment itself. We provide SizeLight Pro, your license and support.

What you get

A license key that turns on SizeLight Pro in the SizeLight app. Your first pattern in the app is free, with every feature. SizeLight Pro lets you add as many patterns as you like, each with its own row counter, line marker and saved place.

The key arrives through Polar: the Access purchase button in your receipt email opens its customer portal, where you can copy it. You enter it in the app under Settings.

The size highlighter on sizelight.com is free and isn’t part of SizeLight Pro. A key works in the app on an iPhone, iPad or Android device that its current version supports, with an internet connection now and then (see Your license). We keep improving SizeLight, so features can change, but we won’t take unlimited patterns away from a plan you’ve paid for.

Plans, prices and renewals

• Lifetime, $34.99 once. One payment. SizeLight Pro stays on, with every update, for as long as SizeLight Pro is offered. That isn’t a promise that it will be offered forever: see If SizeLight Pro stops.
• Yearly, $17.99 a year. A subscription that renews automatically every year, on the date you bought it, and is charged to the same payment method until you cancel.

Cancelling the yearly plan

Cancel any time in Polar’s customer portal (the Access purchase link in your receipt), or email hello@sizelight.com and we’ll do it for you. It stops the next renewal: SizeLight Pro stays on until the end of the year you’ve paid for, and then your key stops working.

Prices and tax

Prices are in US dollars. Polar works out any sales tax or VAT for your country and shows it before you pay: in the US, Canada and India it’s added to the price at checkout; in the EU, the UK and most other countries it’s already included.

Renewal reminders

About a month before each yearly renewal (never less than 15 days before), we email you a reminder with the renewal date, the price and how to cancel. Polar also emails a reminder about a week before.

If we change the yearly price, subscribers keep their price until we’ve told them by email at least 30 days before a renewal at the new price, so there’s time to cancel.

Your license

Buying SizeLight Pro gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use it on up to 3 devices at a time. The key checks in with Polar to count your devices.

Your key needs an internet connection now and then. The app confirms your key online about once a week. If it can’t for 14 days, adding new patterns pauses until it can; the patterns you’ve added always open. This applies to Lifetime too: it relies on Polar’s key service being reachable.

• It’s for you. Please don’t publish, share, sell or give away your key.
• Don’t try to get around the key check or copy the app.
• Moving to a new device? “Remove key from this device” in the app’s Settings frees the old one’s place. If you can’t do that any more, email hello@sizelight.com and we’ll move your key over.

We may turn off a key that has been shared publicly, or one bought with a payment that was reversed, disputed or fraudulent. SizeLight, the app and its code are ours; your patterns are yours, stay on your device, and we never see them.

Refunds

Within 14 days of buying, or of a yearly renewal, you can have a full refund for any reason. The refund policy explains how.

EU and UK: your right of withdrawal

If you’re a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can withdraw from your purchase of SizeLight Pro within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason, and get a full refund. Starting to use your key doesn’t end this right, and we don’t ask you to give it up at checkout: whatever the checkout says, we treat it as yours for the full 14 days. The same goes for a yearly plan, and we also refund a yearly renewal if you ask within 14 days of it.

How to withdraw

• Withdraw from contract here: our withdrawal form. It asks for the email address you used at checkout, then for your confirmation.
• Or tell us in any clear way, for example by email to hello@sizelight.com, using the model form below if you like.

We confirm that we’ve received your withdrawal by email, without delay. Polar, which took your payment, then refunds everything you paid, tax included, to the same payment method within 14 days, at no cost to you, and your key stops working. You can also contact Polar at support@polar.sh.

If SizeLight Pro stops

We hope SizeLight is around for a long time. If we ever stop offering SizeLight Pro:

• we’ll email everyone who bought it at least 60 days before;
• yearly subscriptions stop renewing, and we refund the unused part of the year you’ve paid for;
• if you bought Lifetime less than 12 months before we announce it, we’ll refund it in full if you ask;
• where the app stores let us, we’ll release a last update of the app that turns on SizeLight Pro without a key.

Your patterns never depend on us: they’re files on your device, and the patterns already in your library keep opening, with or without SizeLight Pro.

SizeLight can make mistakes

SizeLight reads the numbers in your pattern automatically. It asks when it isn’t sure, but it can still highlight a wrong number or miss one, so check anything important against the pattern itself.

We provide SizeLight as it is and do our best to fix problems quickly. As far as the law allows, our responsibility for a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. Where the law doesn’t allow that limit, it doesn’t apply.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date. Changes apply to purchases made after that date. If a change affects yearly subscribers, we’ll email them before their next renewal, so they can cancel if they don’t agree.
